Free Pantry & Freezer Inventory Tracker: Waste Less Food
Ever forgotten what was hiding at the back of your freezer or bought groceries you already had at home? Our free Pantry & Freezer Inventory Tracker helps you organize your pantry, fridge, and freezer, keep track of food quantities, and spot items you may want to use soon. It also creates a shopping list based on what you’re running low on and helps you track the estimated value of food you’ve used or wasted. Save your inventory, print your list, and make the most of what you’ve already bought.
Know what you have. Use what you bought. Waste a little less.
Track pantry, fridge, and freezer foods in one place. Spot date reminders, build a low-stock shopping list, and see the estimated value of food used or discarded.
Add something to your kitchen
Save what you already own. Add unit prices if you want the waste-value estimates.
Dates are reminders to inspect or plan food, not safety verdicts. A passed best-by date does not automatically mean food is unsafe or needs discarding. Follow package handling instructions and food-safety guidance.
📦 Your kitchen inventory
Search your supplies, filter by storage spot, and log food as used or wasted.

“Bought” adds the suggested quantity to your tracked stock. Check the package size and adjust the actual amount afterward if needed.
🌱 Food waste & use log
A little awareness adds up. Amounts reflect the unit prices you enter.
Records are saved only in this browser. Inventory edits don’t change earlier log values.
💾 Keep your tracker safe
No account required. Your entries are stored locally on this device and browser, when storage is available.
Clear browser data or switch devices and local progress may disappear. Use the JSON backup to transfer or protect your records. Nothing is sent to The Thrifty Habit.

How the tracker works
Enter items with quantity and location. Add an optional package date so the reminder filter can surface foods that may need attention. The shopping list suggests replenishing items whose quantity is at or below your chosen threshold; “Bought” adds the suggested quantity to inventory.
For a food-waste estimate, enter a price per tracked unit (for example, $2.50 per jar). When you log a discarded amount, that quantity is multiplied by its recorded per-unit value. Amounts recorded as used within the reminder window also appear separately, but should not be interpreted as verified savings. Prices, package sizes, dates, and storage conditions differ by household.
Food safety: Date labels aren’t a substitute for food-safety advice. Some date labels concern quality rather than safety; other products and handling instructions need particular care. Consult official food-safety recommendations when uncertain. No date alone is treated here as a reason to discard food.
